Integrated Management Systems (IMS)

An Integrated Management System (IMS) is concerned with how to make systems work together.

To compete today, an organization must be good at everything, speed, cost control, quality, product development and customer service.  Being good at one thing, and not so good at the rest, isn't good enough.  The name of the game is customer value.  Customers will accept no less today.

The implementation of an IMS is beneficial for many reasons:-

- Avoidance of unnecessary work, i.e. for double documentation or auditing

- Less conflicts of contradicting instructions of several management systems

- Improved communication processes by clear responsibilities

- Continuous improvement process by innovation management

- Improved development of a consistent corporate identity (CI)

- Information sharing

- Acting as a coordinated ‘body’ for greater efficiency
